Scope and Contents From the Collection: Materials in this collection include the personal files of French L. Arrington from 1958 to 2007. The greater percentage of the files are for 1974 to 1997. A large portion of his files before 1974 were not preserved. Much of the collection is correspondence—general correspondence, correspondence for the Seminar on Ministry, for the Puerto Rico Extension (1987-1988), and for editorial work with the Full Life Bible Commentary on the New Testament. This collection includes the official correspondence of the general overseer's office beginning in 1949 under the leadership of H. L. Chesser. It is entered in the system at the file level, organized chronologically, then alphabetically. It includes incoming and outgoing mail. The file records in the archive catalog include the names of the correspondents included in the file, though subjects have not been attached at this time.

While many unpublished manuscripts naturally find their home in individual, family, or institutional collections, there are other manuscripts in our holdings which do not have such a home. This accruing collection brings intellectual cohesion to those manuscripts that broadly fit our holdings but are not included in other collections because each one might be the only item we have related to a person or a variety of other reasons.
