Bernice Stout Woodard, Lawrence County Public Schools, Diplomas, certificates, awards, 1935 – 1940

 File — Box: M0047-1, Folder: 1

Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

Bernice Woodard donated personal papers, diplomas, awards, plaques, photos, sermon notes, lesson plans, publications, research papers, speeches, graduation tassels, yearbooks, newspaper clippings, video recordings, scrapbooks, notebooks, event programs, devotions, and correspondence. Information and contextual information used to process this collection has come directly from Woodard.

This collection is organized first by chronology, then by type. Series 6 contains materials from throughout her life; these materials are either general in nature, span a large portion of her life, or do not pertain to her ministry directly. All materials relating directly to her family, or a member thereof, are contained in Series 6.

Series 2 and 3 contain Church of God publications. The issues included feature Bernice Woodard in some way, either written by her or about her. If the volume and issue number of a particular issue are included in the finding aid, then the entirety of the issue is contained in the collection. If the volume and issue number are not included, then the collection contains only the specific feature (the exception being the 1986 Church of God Ladies’ Centennial). In most cases, these are articles written by Bernice herself.

This collection is valuable to research on Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, Church of God Youth Department, children’s church, and female Pentecostal Evangelists.
