French L. Arrington, Article, "The Use of the Bible by Pentecostals", Pneuma: Journal of Society for Pentecostal Studies, vol. 16, Spring 1994
Scope and Contents
Materials in this collection include the personal files of French L. Arrington from 1958 to 2007. The greater percentage of the files are for 1974 to 1997. A large portion of his files before 1974 were not preserved. Much of the collection is correspondence—general correspondence, correspondence for the Seminar on Ministry, for the Puerto Rico Extension (1987-1988), and for editorial work with the Full Life Bible Commentary on the New Testament. Also included are brochures and minutes of the Steering Committee for the Seminar on Ministry for 1984-1986. Minutes of the Committee to Study the Church of God Practical Commitments are included.
Reviews of all of French’s books are included. Either copies of articles he has written are in the collection, or in some cases the original periodical in which they were published (especially the Church of God Evangel) are included. French has kept programs and church bulletins for places where he has ministered, and these are in the collection.
Biographical information includes French’s resume, a chronology of his life and ministry, and a bibliography of his writings and of some tapes.
Also included are some personal correspondence of French’s wife, Frances, and biographical information about her.
