Scope and Contents
Description on back of photo: M.S Haynes, wife Lula, son Raymond, and Faithful Dan (horse)
Other note: By 1915 there were still not enough Pastors to supply the churches. Here you see M.S Haynes, wife (lula) and son (Raymond) with thier mode of travel. He pastored four churches at one time giving each church one Sunday out of the month. These churches were in the northern parts of the state of Mississippi. They were Friendship, Stonefield, Shady Grove, and Tilghman's Chapel. In Mid-Winter when the roads were too muddy to travel by horse and buggy he would walk to his appointments. One time he slid off of a foot long and muddied his only suit, but went on and filled his appointment.
