adult female boots, undated
Item — Box: AR0004-4, Object: 1, 2
Scope and Contents
This pair of adult boots are primarly made of soft, tanned animal hide. Around the upper ankle is a collar of glass beadwork in the form of flowers and mosaic shapes. Below is white natural fur. There is an accent of ties with round animal fur. The seams are also decorated with felt and futher beadwork. Because these decorated with white fur, these would likely be worn by a female. Tlingit beadwork is a means of expressing individual and group identity.
