Biographical / Historical

Gale A. Barnett (August 1, 1937–November 16, 2020) was born in Graham, Texas to Wesley and Iva (Davis) Barnett. The Church of God ordained him in 1966. He pastored in the Church of God for 26 years in Omaha, Nebraska, Pueblo, Colorado, and Grand Junction, Colorado. He graduated from Mesa College (A.A.) and Lee College (B.S.). During his ministry, he served on various state and international boards, was appointed as Youth and Christian Education director of several states, and was installed as administrative bishop in Montana, Ohio, California, and Texas. At different times, he served as the chair of the boards of World Missions and Youth and Christian Education. He retired to Weatherford, Texas in 2008.

His family consists of his wife, Joyce Virginia Barnett, daughter, Elaine Wright, and son, Brian Barnett.
