Poem, "Barney Creek", October 30, 2025
Scope and Contents
"I wrote the poem several years ago after Brother Charles and Sister Carol Pittman took a group of us to Barney Creek, and the Shearer schoolhouse. It was my first visit there, and it was good to be on the actual property where the Church of God began. I wrote most of the poem right after our visit to the grist mill site, but I didn't finish it until after going back to the Barney Creek site on my own, a few weeks ago." Peggy McBee
